Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to all new and returning band members. This is going to be a great year. We have lots of exciting things happening and we are going to need YOUR
involvement. There is always a place for you to help out.
Practices have already started and the kids and staff are working
hard to make this a spectacular year.
The Band Boosters will meet on Tuesday July 14th
at 7 pm in the band room. The Band
Camp committee will meet immediately following. Please plan on attending. We need tons of help with band
camp. Serving meals…..getting water/Gatorade to the kids/cleaning up, etc. This year we are planning a small carnival on parent night….Friday August
7th. PLEASE REMEMBER BAND CAMP FEES AND PAPERS ARE DUE SOON. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT
MRS. ASH HAVE THE MEDICAL FORMS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
We will have a Freshman Parent/Band Member Orientation meeting on
Tuesday July 21st at 6 pm in the band room. We will go over in more detail about the booster organization and plans for the year and how YOU can help. Everyone is
urged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

information on most activities. Also, you can contact the band at: hhs.band@yahoo.com. I will try and send out emails
about all activities as I know information doesn’t always come home with your student. If we don’t have your email address……please make sure we have it so you will be included in all email
correspondence.
Full Band Camp week is August 3rd –
7th. This is a very important week and the students need to be well rested and ready to work. Make
sure they eat something before they come in the morning. Milk is not recommended. Lunch and dinner will be
served. They should have filled out a meal preference form…..if not, they are available in the band room.
Band camp fees help pay for the students’ meals. There are a few guidelines we must follow to make sure all students and staff are fed first. The food
provided for lunches and dinners will be offered to students/staff first. Helpers and children not in the band may eat at a $5.00 per meal fee…….if there
is food available. Sometimes there is enough food for seconds and that will be offered to band students first. We understand that some band camp helpers need to bring siblings along with them. Those children must be supervised at all times by their parent/guardians. The school does not allow children to walk around the building unattended. We do not want to lose our privileges to use the building during band camps. These guidelines have to be put in place to
be fair to everyone. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
